One of the things that stands out when watching BTS' music videos is the outfits. Whether it was their hip hop style during their debut, the casual urban attire in Run, or their sleek and sexy look in Blood, Sweat & Tears, you noticed what they were wearing.

We wanted to re-create some of their iconic looks, but on a UK budget.

Bon Voyage season 3 has arrived and it's set in the beautiful location of Malta. We have been able to see the relaxed, fun BTS that captured our hearts as they enjoy their adventures. For anyone heading out for some Autumnal sun or wanting some inspiration for next years summer holidays, maybe to the amazing island of Malta, we have the outfits for you.

Jimin matches the tailored shorts perfectly with a relaxed overtone, from the loose shirt to the Love t-shirt; and he's Jimin so why wouldn't he wear a woolly black hat in the Mediterranean?

J-Hope shows off his personality with cut-off denim shorts and striped t-shirt. He pulls off the look with a headband, and brown leather belt.

We carry on from last week and continue with outfits inspired by BTS' Love Yourself tour stage costumes.

Here we see Jimin's sleek look, with an all black outfit ensemble. Now you can give off the brooding sexy vibe too!

J-Hope's look is on the everyday casual end. A white or black t-shirt with a pair of stonewash denim, and if you want to dress it up slightly throw in a red bandana or bag for a nice splash of colour.

Finally we have Jungkook's sophisticated and sexy look. Using leather, sequins and sheer fabrics you can also create this dark vibe.

So the Love Yourself Tours kicked off in the US in a major way!  Lights, camera and action the boys came to make a statement and this showed in their amazing stage outfits.  Glitter, flowing fabric and more, they have it all.

Here's how you can recreate some of their on stage looks without needing a production budget!

1st up we have RM a flowy robe or flamboyant jacket - your choice.

Next we have this smart but casual look from Suga.

Here we have Jin with a simple look that you can pull off everyday.

Continuing our comeback looks we take inspiration from one of the live performances of Save Me/I'm Fine.
The attire looks comfortable and colourful; designed to dance and jump around to the infectious beats of the song, they take you out the other side of a relationship when you have to shout that you are fine.

We carry on our comeback themed suggestions this week - 

Tae

Tae's IDOL outfit is full of humour and fun. The colours and style fit perfectly with his quirky attitude towards life. This time instead of on his sleeve, Tae wears his heart all over his shirt.

With Jimin and Jungkook we took inspiration from their promotional stage performaces. 

Both wear a vibrant red; while Jimin's suit is more formal, Jungkook's sparkly jacket is definitely on the flamboyant side which is calmed down with the rest of the outfit.

BTS hit us with IDOL this come back!!  It's loud, exciting and fun; pretty much like BTS themselves.  The African theme inspires the burnt orange, and vibrant colours the tear across the screen catching your imagination and heart.

RM

His blue geometric suit is made to pop, and turns into it's own piece of artwork when the beat kicks in and the dancing begins.  His toned down tan outfit is reminiscent of a desert suit worn by explorers, but of course the embellished details make it special.

Suga

The zigzag detail on Suga's suit stands out from the crowd along with his platform shoes made to be danced in.  Suga's most notable outfit of the IDOL video is his Snow White inspired jumper that sparkles in the strobe lights, covered in sequins.

While Jin's outfit is more understated, it allows for his personality to shine through with the pop of bright blue from his blazer, and colours in his tie.

J-Hope is bright and beautiful with his bright yellow Bugs Bunny top contrasting well against the cut-out jeans. He shows us exactly why he is our sunshine.

With the Love Yourself: Answer release in 2 days, we once again turn to the concept photo's as inspiration for our Get the Look feature this week.

Focusing on concept photos of 'L' and 'F'

L Concept Photo's have a very subdued and muted tone to them, like an old photograph found in a drawer.  The colours are neutral with a lot of earthy notes.  The ripping through the middle could mean these pictures had been destroyed in the past and now put back together.

Jin & J-Hope

Their outfits look like a school uniform, very smart and fitted.  The blazer, tie and tailored trousers follow the beige neutral tones completely contrasting with the vibrancy in Jin's orange hair.

J-Hope has a similar look for the school outfit, while in the 2nd half you get a colour pop in the yellow top that he is wearing.

F Concept Photo's have bright fun feel about them, but the serious facial expressions of BTS give the feeling there is more to the story than just a group of friends hanging out at the park.

Jimin's outfit although simple and having a muted colour palate, key pieces are introduced to add a splash of colour and interest.  The light blue lace ups and the blue hoodie work together to draw your eye from top to bottom of the outfit.  The fun and interesting piece is the Halloween tie, pumpkins and BOO are printed on and it stand out in a fun and kooky way. 

Meanwhile Suga seems casual and carefree in a light colour palate which broken up with earthy and bright greens to add energy.

BTS' concept photo's for their new Love Yourself: Answer were released on Monday, causing Army's to go into theory mode.

The outfits for 'S' are flamboyant, with nods towards the new romantics wave of the British pop scene. Including influences from Ziggy Stardust, Adam Ant, Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran.

Here are some looks for you to recreate inspired by Jimin and Taehyung's look:

The theme of the 'E' concept pictures are more whimsical.  There is a fairy tale aspect to them with the green foliage in the globe terraniums that each member is within. The ruffles and sequins remind us of magical faraway lands, maybe a hint of David Bowie's character Jareth, the Goblin King.

Jungkook's outfit is the most distinctive as the only member of BTS wearing all black; the outfit is simple, black from head to toe with the gauzy shirt allowing the detail on the vest underneath show through when it catches the light.  The only hint of colour the blue ribbon around the wrist, possibly to represent the marionettes strings that control their free will.

RM's outfit is created using a colour palate of black, white and grey.  It too is a simple outfit, with most detail on his shirt which is long and loose but also has carefully created and placed slashes.  One brace across the chest can be seen underneath the shirt which puts a black line through the clothes and draws the eye.  The white ruffle around the neck has a feeling of a clown made to entertain.

This group of pictures couldn't be further away from the recent fun, bright outfits we have grown accustomed to when BTS grace our screens and the worlds stages.

The look of DNA is eclectic and vibrant; it takes BTS from the very theatrical Blood Sweat and Tears to a more fun, boy next door look. The dance moves take the clothes on a new level when the beat kicks in and the shimmer becomes apparent.

Jin, V, and Suga's outfits are meant to stand out and catch your eye from the beginning to the very end of the music video. Built on bright primary colours, you can't miss the details, purposefully included in the top to toe style.

The vibe is quite otherworldly with a touch of 80's retro fun.

This week we go back to BTS' hip hop roots, but with an updated modern look. Mic Drop came and conquered the naysayers and detractors. Hip Hop never looked so clean and sleek before. They still had the gold chains and accessories, but without looking gaudy.

Here's how you can look as good as Jimin and Namjoon, and not giving a care about those haters.

After the highly stylised costumes of Mic Drop and the colourful DNA, Euphoria showed us a simpler more relaxed BTS.

A youthful group of friends hanging out and having fun; a more carefree and lighter side of BTS. So reminiscent of their earlier videos that focused on youth, friendship, love and loss.

Both J-Hope and Jungkook are sporting a similar colour palette with the denim blues and warm yellows/oranges, which gives off a calm and understated casual feel. Almost an end of Summer and beginning of Autumn vibe.

This week we have an earlier Run era J-Hope and Wings/YNWA era RM & Taehyung.

Run gives off an impression of a youth wasted. Running off to do things a teenager would do, without a care for societal norms or boundaries. They'll do what they like and don't care what anyone else thinks.

To recreate your own Run era, here's how:

Our 2nd look this week is Taehyung in Spring Day. A whimsical look; Taehyung gives off a feeling of being sad and lonely. He is a lost boy looking for something/ someone to fulfill an emptiness.

Our final look is this sexy RM look from Blood, sweat and tears. Dark and broody; he gives off a vibe of a dark seducer, almost an 80's new romantic... but BETTER!

For this week we have researched these iconic looks from their debut era.

Suga in Boy in Luv was a concept I found really interesting. Throughout the MV he has this ‘bad boy’ image with a 'devil may care' attitude. This is shown in his all black look and his chain on his trousers. The MV video gives off an intense feel which is bold and dynamic. 

Here's how you could emulate the look for yourself at home. 

BTS during their debut No More Dream era was all about Hip Hop. With their oversized loose tops and baggy trousers.

It was an edgy look with black clothes, big statement jewellery, and sunglasses. They were cool and they were hip hop.

For our first blog we have chosen Jin in War on Hormone and Jimin in Fire.

War of hormone has very simple but aesthetic appeal to it. The music video brings this bad boy, don’t really care, slick and clean look; with also a mix of 00’s and modern styles to give it that extra edge.

With mainly a really black and white look to the video, it adds just a pop of colour with an understated red. The black and white theme is in Jin’s ripped jeans and white t-shirt. The spot of colour is his tartan print shirt.

Fire has a rebellious but carefree vibe about it, with a clear message; that it's okay to just live because we're still young. Asking others who do you think you are to say otherwise? You don't have to win at everything so just live how you want. Jimin’s outfit encompasses that message from the brightly coloured bomber jacket to the ripped jeans.
