How do I even begin talking about this amazing song?

Scenery was dropped on us after a mysterious tweet from Taehyung so hopes were high that at 10pm KST, 1pm GMT we would get to hear his song.

The song starts off with the sound of a rail track, gusts of wind and Taehyung breathing, then a piano starts playing. Everyone knows how deep, luxurious and velvety smooth Taehyung’s voice is but hearing him so vividly, with just a piano playing is simply a privilege.

Scenery is about capturing memories, how the moments captured create a story of your life:

I still wonder, wonder beautiful story

Still wonder, wonder best part

I still wander, wander next story

I want to make you mine

At the Seoul Music Awards on 15th January 2019 Taehyung gave a speech after receiving the Daesang where he hinted at releasing something soon. He said he had prepared a gift for ARMY and many thought that the gift would be in the form of a photobook, but now, could it be that ‘Scenery’ is that gift? Personally, I believe so.

Everything about Scenery is breath taking. Taehyung’s heart and soul were put into this song and that was evident from the awards speech, the tweets before it was released and the song itself.

Scenery is a reminder to capture those precious moments when you can because those moments may not come around again:

My heart feels the sense of regret

For missing the scene at the split moment

I regret and hope that split moment comes again

This particular verse struck a chord with me on a personal level after losing my Mum in 2017, there are so many moments I now wish I had captured, but sadly, will never come again. The moments and memories I did capture are now all I have and mean the world to me.

Taehyung talks often about how he has taken photographs everywhere BTS have been and how ARMY are his inspiration. He has shared so many pictures with us, taken in the many cities during their tour or when at home in Korea and now we have Scenery, the song that tells us how important those photographs are to him.

A self composed song with beautiful lyrics, deep sentiment and sang with such feeling is exactly what Scenery is. There are so many emotions bubbling to the surface when I listen to it, but the overwhelming emotion is ‘love’. Taehyung’s love for photography, memories and ARMY. ARMYs love for Taehyung I feel it is another example of BTS’s personal connection with ARMY.
