Know The Team Through BTS - Marsha
This was one of the hardest playlists I've ever had to make. Being a singer and having a musical family I realised my music taste is very diverse so I ended up with a list of 30 from which I had to whittle down to 8!
I first caught a glimpse of BTS on their debut stage a few hours after it came out, instantly I was drawn in. The sound was different, the writing was smart and hit points that had not been hit before on previous Korean music. It was at "Boy In Luv" where I ended up throwing my shoes at the TV when I realised I was in deep.
So that's my story... Now for my playlist:

Epiphany
I judge how good a song is to myself by how it makes me feel. The first time I listened to this I heard the intro, knew this would be a rock type ballad as it's Jin, and decided to not even watch the video and just closed my eyes. I understand some Korean as I've been hearing it for so long so could get the jist of the verse and I could start to feel the lump in my throat. By the time the line "I'm the one I should love" hit me, I was in floods of tears swaying to the melody as it moved me. It was in that moment I decided to change something about my life for the better. This will forever be a song close to my heart and encompasses everything that BTS stands for.
Butterfly
This song is lyrical and musical genius. The entire flow of the melody and voices combined in unison and harmony make you feel you are the wings of a butterfly gliding through the clouds in complete euphoria. It's almost like a siren song from BTS to their biggest love terrified to lose you, yet terrified to be around you. That makes it all the more powerful.
Cypher PT 2: Triptych.
I am a rapline enthusiast and to me, this is one of the best Cyphers they have ever done. The literal tongue technology and lyrical play/twists are absolutely phenomenal. It makes me drum on my steering wheel and I remember the first time I heard this I clapped after it finished I was that impressed.
You feel powerful and attacked at the same time and that takes some doing!

The Truth Untold.
This took me by complete suprise. I wasn't expecting such a raw, minimalistic and emotional song to come from a Steve Aoki Collab. This song had me stunned at the bridge. A lot of the lyrics in this song resonated with me about my own insecurities and helped me to release some of those feelings through singing along to it.
Gripping is a complete understatement.

Spring day.
This song is just pure genius. The echoing "I miss you" spread out through the song pierce you each time it's said. The songs melody follows the rise and fall of the seasons and gives a feeling of hope even when you have been sat in the darkness. I believe this will remain one of BTS's most groundbreaking pieces and stay as a firm favourite through the test of time.
Not Today.
I had to include this, it's a power anthem. I play this when I need cheering up and need to get my game face on. The song is about not giving in and repelling all the badness and obstacles that you are faced with to succeed with you own dream. Its a powerful song with a powerful message. It's my saviour.
Magic Shop.
Again, I cried. "So show me, I'll show you". It got me. I think the reason I'm so emotionally attached to this song is that it's a personal message from BTS to their fans telling them that it's ok to be a mess whilst I also think it's a message to themselves that it's also ok for them to be a mess also. It has such a positive feeling and you know you are sharing this feeling with so many others it gives a sense of comfort in an uncomfortable world.
Outro: Tear.
This song makes me want to laugh, cry, dance and punch someone at the same time. I didn't realise just how much I loved this song until the concert. Seeing and hearing it live just set a spark in me. I chanted and danced like it was my last day on earth to this song. I feel like this song helps me understand my past, seeing it for what it was and through the song itself I throw away the negative energy that came with it. I still listen to this song everyday and it never gets old.
