PERSONA - Who The Hell Am I?
Review by Charlie
I was outside in the middle of filming a video on my university’s campus when the ‘Persona’ comeback trailer dropped. And even though I couldn’t see the video too well because of the sun overhead, I immediately fell in love with it. I was confused when I saw the Skool Luv Affair animation intro begin to play, enthralled when I saw Namjoon appear, overcome when I saw him bopping his head oh so adorably next to the “Kim Namjoon” sign, and completely in love with the song as even after it finished, the catchy hook of “Persona, who the hell am I?” played in my head on repeat. All I can say is, if this catchy beat which has Namjoon completely putting his all into the rap is just the intro, well, I am so nervous for how incredible the title track is going to be.
Namjoon is in the familiar No More Dream/Boy in Luv classroom setting of old school BTS, looking like the old underground “Runch Randa” of his past, with words such as “Map of the Soul” and “Dream Persona Love Shadow Happiness Ego” scrawled behind him on the blackboard. People have speculated this to refer to the names of the next albums and intros in the Map of the Soul album series. I’d at least make a note of these names because with BTS, every single thing in the background of a video seems to be a clue that hints to future projects.
I for one am very excited to see the boys go back to their hip-hop roots, as their old songs do give me nostalgia and a title track reminiscent of Boy in Luv or No More dream would be incredible.

Well what can I say, I was just about to leave the house to collect my teenage daughter from school when the VLive notification came up on my phone - BTS Comeback Trailer on now!
I had to go, but it was only a few minutes, and I was hoping I wouldn't be too late!
The first thing I noticed was the blonde WOW hair, obviously I realised it was Namjoon and he was rapping.
It sounded so fluid and powerful and he looked amazingly powerful too. I felt privileged to among the very first few viewers. I loved the towering figure of RM in a towelling robe.
Looking up the lyrics of the song and I was right that it was a very powerful song, could we ARMY's expect anything less?
Watching it again with my daughter she remarked how it was now her favourite tune and we both can't wait to hear it live in June.
